The Role of The Administrative Head in Improving Administrative Services at MTs Negeri 4, Serang Regency

This study aimed to analyze the role of the head of administration as a manager and administrator in improving administrative services at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 4 Serang Regency, describe the implementation of administrative tasks, identify the obstacles encountered, and analyze the efforts undertaken to overcome these challenges. The research employed a qualitative approach, with data collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and data triangulation. The research informants included the head of the madrasah, the head of administration, administrative staff, teachers, and students. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which consists of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing.The results showed that the head of administration played a crucial role in managing, coordinating, supervising, and evaluating the implementation of school administration, thereby improving the effectiveness and efficiency of administrative services. The implementation of administrative duties was carried out effectively through a clear division of responsibilities, efficient coordination, and the utilization of information technology in administrative management. The challenges encountered included limited human resources with information technology competencies, disruptions in digital-based administrative systems, and delays in document submission. Efforts to address these challenges were carried out through regular briefings, staff competency development and training, as well as continuous monitoring and evaluation. This study concluded that the role of the head of administration contributed significantly to improving the quality of administrative services at Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri (MTsN) 4 Serang Regency.
